ABOUT THE BANd

The J Houston Band is an experienced power trio that immediately makes a connection to their audience with their rockin’ blues sound. Edgy slide guitar solos, solid bass lines and superb drumming skills keep the crowd attentive and often on their feet. The band opened for acclaimed blues harpist Carlos del Junco and shared a venue with blues guitarist JW Jones and Miss Emily.

The J Houston Band has completed four original albums to date. They have had several of their songs featured on internet radio in Canada, the United States (Good, Morning Blues-Charleston)and regular airplay in the UK (House of Prog’s Sunday Groove). A song from each of their last two albums was included in the compilation CD of UK’s Fireworks magazine. The band has received favourable reviews of the their last three CD releases including one from noted award winner Pete Feenstra for the Hunter album and an unreserved buy recommendation from Jorge Schneider with Sounds of the South in Germany for their Milestone LP.

The band continues to gain notoriety for their ability to provide something unique in a rockin’ blues style.
